Nimply Sidekick for Firefox
Firefox gets its own build of Sidekick, listed on addons.mozilla.org and reviewed by Mozilla. The panel docks in the Firefox sidebar, and Firefox shows you at install what the extension handles.
The button becomes a link the day the Firefox Add-ons listing is approved. Nothing on this site links to a listing that does not exist yet.
Where it appears
It docks in the Firefox sidebar
Firefox does not have Chrome’s side panel, so Sidekick uses the Firefox sidebar instead: the same panel, docked to the side of the window. Open it from the sidebar button or the View menu and choose Nimply Sidekick, or click the toolbar icon for a compact popup with the same actions. Either way, the page you are reading is never changed.

Desktop Firefox on Windows, macOS and Linux
The Firefox listing covers desktop Firefox. It is a separate build from the Chrome one, packaged the way Mozilla requires, and it is listed as a desktop extension: Sidekick is built around a sidebar and a right-click menu, which are desktop features. There is no Firefox for Android listing in the first release.

How to add it to Firefox
Five steps, most of them one click. You sign in with the Nimply account you already have; there is no separate Sidekick account.

- A Nimply account. Saving posts, images and articles is included on every plan; AI drafting and reply suggestions use your workspace’s AI credits.

Open the Firefox Add-ons listing
Use the button on this page. It becomes a link once Mozilla’s review is complete; until then it says “Coming soon”.

Click “Add to Firefox” and read the notice
Firefox shows two things before it installs: the permissions, and a data-collection notice. Since late 2025 every new Firefox add-on must declare what it handles, and Sidekick declares two categories: authentication information (your Nimply sign-in) and website content (the one post or page you click to save). That matches our privacy policy word for word. Click “Add” to continue.

Decide about private windows
Firefox asks whether the extension may run in private windows. Sidekick works either way; it reads nothing unless you click it, in any kind of window.

Open the sidebar and sign in
Open the Firefox sidebar and pick Nimply Sidekick from its menu, or click the toolbar icon. Sign in with your existing Nimply account and choose a workspace. Firefox may ask once whether to let the extension reach nimply.io, because Firefox grants site access when an extension first needs it rather than at install. Allow it and you will not be asked again.

Use it on the post in front of you
Click the icon, right-click a post, link or image and choose the Nimply entry, or press Alt+Shift+S. Sidekick reads that one page and shows you what it found before anything leaves Firefox.

What is different about Sidekick in Firefox
The extension does the same things everywhere. These are the parts that Firefox handles in its own way.
Sidebar, not side panel
The Firefox sidebar is a browser feature that predates Chrome’s side panel. Sidekick uses it as its main surface, and the toolbar icon opens a popup as a shortcut. The same rules apply: everything Sidekick shows you lives in its own panel, never on the page.
Firefox tells you what the extension handles before you install it
The data-collection notice you see at install is a Firefox requirement for all new add-ons. Sidekick’s two declared categories, sign-in information and the content you choose to save, are the same two things listed in our extension privacy policy.
Site access is granted when first needed
Chrome grants the nimply.io host permission at install; Firefox may ask you the first time the extension needs it. Sidekick handles that prompt cleanly, and it is the only site access it will ever ask for.
Mozilla reviews the source code
Because the installed package is bundled, Mozilla requires the human-readable source alongside it and reviews both. That means the Firefox build is checked line by line against what this page says it does.
One permission fewer
Firefox has no sidePanel permission, so the Firefox build asks for five: activeTab, scripting, storage, contextMenus and identity, plus access to nimply.io.
Same rules in every browser
Assistive, not automated
The Firefox build keeps every limit the other builds have. They are in the design, not in the settings. Read the full list or the extension privacy policy.
- Reads one page, once, only when you click. Never a feed, a search or a list page, and never in the background.
- Never posts, replies, likes, follows or types into a page. Drafted replies go to your clipboard for you to send.
- Never changes the page you are on, never touches your cookies or sessions, and can only contact nimply.io.
