What is the claude.ai connector?
claude.ai is Anthropic's Claude in the browser, and connectors are how it talks to outside services. When you add a custom connector, Claude gains a set of tools it can call mid-conversation — with your permission — instead of just describing what you should go do elsewhere.
Nimply's connector is a remote MCP server, so there is nothing to install. You add one URL, log in to Nimply, choose which workspace Claude may use, and approve the permissions. The OAuth flow issues a scoped token — Claude only ever gets the access you approved, in that one workspace, and you can revoke it whenever you like.

Connect claude.ai to Nimply
The whole setup is a connector URL and an approval screen. You need a Nimply workspace with at least one social channel connected, and an OWNER or ADMIN role to authorize the app.

Add a custom connector
In claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Enter the Nimply server URL:

Approve access
Claude opens Nimply's authorization page. Log in, choose the workspace the connector may use, review the requested permissions, and click Allow access. This is standard OAuth — no API key is ever created or copied.

Enable it in a chat and ask
Back in claude.ai, enable the Nimply connector for your conversation. Then try something real: "What channels do I have connected, and are any of them unhealthy?" or "Draft five posts about our summer sale and schedule them into the next free slots."
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an API key to use Nimply with claude.ai?
No. claude.ai connects through OAuth: you add the server URL, log in to Nimply, and approve access. The flow issues a scoped token behind the scenes, and you can revoke it at any time from your workspace settings.
Which social networks can Claude post to?
All channels connected to your Nimply workspace: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Pinterest, and Threads. Claude works with whatever accounts you have connected — it cannot add new social accounts on its own.
Can Claude publish posts without me seeing them first?
Only if you grant it that permission. During authorization you review exactly what the connector may do — read-only access lets Claude analyze but not post, and publishing requires the publish permission. You can also ask Claude to save everything as drafts, or route posts through Nimply's approval workflow so a human signs off.
Who in my workspace can set up the connector?
Only workspace owners and admins can authorize apps. If you see a message that you need the OWNER or ADMIN role, ask an admin to connect the workspace or have your role upgraded.
The authorization page never appears — what now?
Your browser is probably blocking the popup. Allow popups for claude.ai and try adding the connector again.
